RI Office of Revenue's Dion Named to Federal Reserve's Regional Economic Policy Board

Rhode Island Office of Revenue Analysis Chief Paul Dion has been named to the New England Public Policy Center advisory board by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.

“I would like to commend Paul on his appointment to the Public Policy Center board. The appointment is a testament to Paul’s analytical abilities and the respect he has among his peers in the region’s economics community,” said Mark A. Furcolo, director of the R.I. Department of Revenue.

Members of the Public Policy Center advisory board guide staff on research, state and local financial policy development, and public engagement.

The advisory board represents the six New England states.

Dion joins John Simmons, executive director of the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council, as Rhode Island’s current representatives.

About Dion

Dion, of North Kingstown, has served since April 2008 as chief of the state’s Office of Revenue Analysis.

The office is responsible for the analysis of the state’s tax system and revenue expenditures.

Dion previously served as the economist for the state’s Office of Management and Budget.

He was previously employed as a financial analyst, senior statistical analyst and department director with CVS Caremark Corp.

Dion holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Rhode Island and a Ph.D in economics from Washington State University.

He received a certificate of advanced graduate study in finance from Bryant University.
