Gloria Gemma Foundation Launches Free Campaign to Help People Live Healthier

The Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation is starting 2018 with a new campaign to help people live healthier.

The new campaign titled “Knowledge is Power” will provide people with information and resources on trending health topics.

“We bring the best resources into one place for people. Someone doesn’t have to spend hours searching the net for accurate information—we’ve done it for them,” said Carol Donnelly, communications manager for the Foundation.

Knowledge is Power

Every month, Knowledge is Power concentrates on one health topic.

January’s health issue is plant-based diets.

The Knowledge is Power’s webpage includes a link to NutritionFacts.org, a science-based website that provides free updates on the latest in nutrition research in easy-to-understand videos, and founded by best-selling author and speaker, Dr. Michael Greger.

It also includes a link to healthyfoodsproject.org, a collaborative effort between the McAuley Ministries and Dr. Mary Flynn, a research nutritionist at Miriam Hospital and associate professor at Brown.

In addition to website links, the page lists recommended books, videos, and classes being offered.

On January 18, the Foundation is offering a free class taught by local nutritionist, Claire Moscrop, entitled The Benefits of Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and How to Make Interesting Vegetarian Meals. Moscrop began teaching classes at the Foundation in 2017.
