Providence Named Gayest State Capital in U.S.

Providence is recognized as the gayest state capital in the country.
The City of Providence has been recognized as the gayest state capital in the country.

According to GayCities.com, Providence beats out Austin, Texas, and Denver Colorado for the gayest capital.

Providence was also ranked as the third most laid-back city for gay people.

The rankings were done as part of GayCities "Best of Gay Cities 2018" poll. 

The poll consisted of over 125,000 votes in 15 different categories. 

Pride in RI

Earlier this summer, Providence hosted the 43rd annual RI Pride Weekend.

This year’s festival focused on the theme “Louder and Prouder.”

It featured a parade, parties throughout the weekend and live musical performances from local artists like Existenz, Derek Capobianco and Jodi Jolt and The Volt, among others.
