RI Native Ava Deluca-Verley Featured in New NBC Sitcom

Were you aware that a promising young actress from Rhode Island is currently starring in a new NBC show? This past Sunday, Ava Deluca-Verley made her network TV debut in the premiere episode of the new sitcom Growing Up Fisher. The show, which premiered after the closing ceremony of the Sochi Olympics, tells the story of a family brought closer together by divorce.

In the show, Deluca-Verley plays the daughter of Jenna Elfman (Dharma and Gregg) and J.K. Simmons (Spiderman). Deluca-Verley was prominently featured throughout the first episode, including a funny scene in which her father (who is blind) teachers her how to drive. The sitcom also stars newcomer Eli Baker as Deluca-Verley's brother.

Look for Growing Up Fisher on NBC every Tuesday at 9:30pm.

In addition to Growing Up Fisher, Deluca-Verley is set to star in the upcoming PBS miniseries The Mystery of Matter: Search for Elements, directed by Emmy Award-winning director Stephen Lyons.

In 2013, Deluca-Verley appeared alongside Steve Carell and Sam Rockwell in the independent film The Way Way Back and guest starred in an episode of TNT’s Southland.

Born in Providence, Deluca-Verley grew up in Winchester, Massachusetts and graduated from the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama in Pittsburg. She currently lives in Los Angeles.

Her mother Michel Deluca-Verley is the owner La Maision de Coco, a chocolate shop in Newport, which specializes in online and specialty orders.
