The Hub & RISD Host Workshop on Applying to Art School

The Hub, the national model of after-school programming as part of the Providence After School Alliance (PASA), has partnered with RISD to offer a workshop this week for local high schoolers on applying to art school.

Erin Danna from RISD's Project Open Door will be on hand on Wednesday, March 16 from 1-3pm at TK to speak with interested students about everything from the application process to what a sample art portfolio looks like. Students already involved with Project Open Door will also be available to answer questions and offer information on how kids can join the program.

Project Open Door

Project Open Door seeks to alleviate some of the financial and educational obstacles teens from low-income families face when they seek arts-learning opportunities that prepare them for college and careers in art and design. The project uses RISD’s resources – its campusmuseum and library to introduce teens to college and careers and to give them a safe and creative workspace to pursue their dreams of entering the creative workforce.
