One woman is dead, and a second victim is in critical condition following an early morning shooting in Providence.

According to Major David Lepatin, the status of the second victim in the shooting on Detroit Avenue early Sunday morning — who was transported to the hospital — was not confirmed as of Sunday afternoon.

The woman who died was approximately 20 years of age.
