NEW: 8 PM Curfew Ordered by Cranston Mayor Fung, Citing "Potential Threats"

Cranston Mayor Allan Fung announced Tuesday afternoon the city is putting an 8 PM curfew in effect, by executive order. 

The announcement comes following violent riots in Providence overnight, and multiple social media reports that commercial areas in Cranston could be targets. 

"Cranston is on notice of potential threats against property within our city," said Fung in his curfew order.

On Tuesday, Rhode Island Governor Gina Raimondo announced she is deploying the Rhode Island National Guard.

"The Cranston Police Department provided assistance to Providence Police and saw first-hand the destructive acts," said Fung in his Executive Order.
