FBI Seized Close to $1 Million from Gallison Following Resignation

Former Rhode Island House Finance Chair Raymond Gallison had close to $1 million seized by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, days following his resignation from the General Assembly in May.

A legal notice posted by the FBI on Thursday shows that Gallison had  $781,774.29 taken from six accounts under his control in Rhode Island on May 6; over $211,000 was seized from two accounts in Northern California. 

A spokeswoman for the FBI office declined comment on Thursday.

Latest Development

Following Gallison's resignation in May, Rep. Marvin Abney was named as the new finance chair; Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello then confirmed Gallison is under investigation by federal authorities.
