PHOTOS: Man Shot in Providence in Car Chase; Suspects at Large
A shootout in Providence took place between two cars on Wednesday, according to police.
Authorities say a man involved in the incident was reportedly shot, one of the vehicles ended in a crash, and another car was damaged in the chase.
About Incident
According to police, two involved parties were in vehicles on Hartford Avenue at approximately 5:30 PM on Wednesday.
Police say that according to reports, occupants in one of the vehicles shot at the other one in a chase, and it is unclear if occupants in the other vehicle shot back.
At the intersection of Hartford Avenue and Plainfield Street, police say one of the vehicles struck another driver who was not involved in the chase.
Police say that vehicle landed on its side and that the driver sustained minor injuries.
Shooting Investigated
Following the chase, Providence police say they received a report of a man shot in Neutaconkanut Park that they believe was related to the incident, where another man of interest was located as well.
One of the vehicles involved in the chase reportedly crashed on Barrow Street, and the occupants fled the scene.
Detectives are currently investigating.
