Army Veteran & Owner of Safeway Electric Motor Company, David M. Korn, Dies

Korn, David M., 86, died Sunday, July 25, 2021, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Brenda (Alberts) Korn for 63 years.

Born in Providence to the late Lewis and Fannie (Brodsky) Korn, he lived in Cranston for the past 13 years, and prior to that in Providence and Pawtucket.

He was the owner of Safeway Electric Motor Company in Providence. David was an Army veteran. He was a member of Temple Emanu-El, Jewish Historical Society, and South Providence Hebrew Free Loan Association.

Devoted father of Ruth Sapper and her husband, Ronald, of Boca Raton, FL, Carolyn Flammey and her husband, Steven, of Framingham, MA, and Philip Korn of Warwick. Dear brother of Leahbelle Chernov of Canton, MA, Herbert Korn of Lexington, MA, Gloria Janavitz of Pittsburgh, PA, and the late Ruth Berkowitz. Loving grandfather of Dr. Harrison and Erin Sapper, Rachel Flammey, and Lindsay Flammey, and her fiancé David Furman.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. in Shalom Memorial Chapel, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.

Shiva will be observed at his late residence, 40 Sachem Dr., #107, Cranston, Wednesday 7-9. Thursday 2-4 & 7-9, Friday 2-4, and Sunday and Monday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
