Carlos E. Morales of Providence Dies at 83

Carlos E. Morales, 83, of Providence, passed away Sunday, May 14th, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria (Gallego) Morales to whom he was married to for 63 years.

Mr. Morales owned a family restaurant which he ran for many years. In addition, he had a lengthy career in the textile industry in his native country of Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and lastly here in Rhode Island.
He enjoyed playing cards, gardening, and discovering new technology.
He will be remembered as a fun-loving family man with a big heart, who treasured the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by nine children, Alonso Morales (Norma), Leonardo Morales (Claudia), Martha Cecilia Morales, William Morales (Anna), Eddie Morales (Deborah), Adriana Wright (Brian), Carlos Mario Morales (Liliana), Nelson Morales (Mileydis), and Nora Lawrence; seventeen grandchildren (Irvin, Dorian, Nevin, Brandon, Mariana, Benjamin, Jordan, William Jr., Cano, Moises, Xavier, Brielle, Tayson, Tatyanna, Adrian, Marcus, Elyanna and five great-grandchildren, Andres, Nala, Luna, Rain, and Rauiri.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, May 16th, 5:00 – 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
His funeral will be held at 8:00 am, Wednesday, May 17th at the A.A. Mariani & Son Funeral Home, 200 Hawkins Street, Providence, RI. The funeral will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at the Holy Spirit Parish, 1030 Dexter Street, Central Falls.
Committal service to follow is private.
