Carolyn A. (Florio) Hughes of Cranston Dies at 81

Carolyn A. (Florio) Hughes, 81, of Cranston, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of Roland D. Hughes for fifty-seven years.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Menna) Florio.

A 1959 graduate of Cranston High School and Johnson & Wales University, Carolyn worked for the League of Credit Unions for many years before retiring. 

Besides her husband, she leaves three children, Michael Hughes of Pawtucket, Douglas Hughes and his wife Kerry of Dartmouth, MA and Sharon Hanson and her husband John of Cranston; and five grandchildren, Anna Hughes of Scituate, Julia Hanson of Cranston, Caleb Hughes, Sophia Hughes and Cullen Hughes all of Dartmouth.  She was the grandmother of the late James Michael Hughes.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 2 pm in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston.  VISITING HOURS will be held from 12-2 PM.
