Former State of RI DOT Engineer & Restaurant Owner, Savino "George" Marfeo, Dies

Besides his wife, he leaves his children Cheryl Marfeo and Michael, and George Marfeo and his wife, Kary, as well as the apples of his eye: his two grandchildren, Lena and Thomas.
Born in Providence, RI, he was a son of the late Louis and Antonetta (Barbieri) Marfeo. He was also predeceased by his brother, Blaise Marfeo, and sister, Janet Squadrito.
George worked for 35 years at the State of Rhode Island DOT as an engineer. Prior to his career at the State of Rhode Island, George was a proud part of his family’s Pizza business, Ronzio’s Pizza, on Federal Hill.
George was a people person. He loved nothing more than his family and friends. Anyone who knew him got an invitation to come visit him in Fort Myers. George was also a lover of food and enjoyed cooking, often having people over to show them how to make his meatballs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 14, 2021, at 10 am in Holy Ghost Church, 472 Atwells Avenue, Providence, RI.
Due to COVID restrictions seating will be limited. Face masks and social distancing will be required.
Burial immediately following at St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
