Former Restaurant Owner, Janice Louise Briggs, Passes at 82

She was the wife of the late Stearns E. “Gene” Briggs, III.
Born in East Greenwich she was the daughter of the late Howard A. and Marion M. (Rathbun) Nyman.

She was a member of VASA Order of America Quahog Lodge; a member of the Living Hope Christian Church. Jan loved gardening, cooking, feeding the birds, spending time with family, friends and sharing her faith.
She is survived by her loving children, Andrew A. Briggs and his wife Jeanie of West Kingston, Timothy A. Briggs and his wife Meg of Exeter and Cynthia M. Pinkerton and her husband James of West Kingston; her brother, George A. Nyman of North Kingstown; her sister, Evelyn N. Karppinen of Carolina; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Stearns E. Briggs, IV and sister of the late Howard A. Nyman.
The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 10 am at the Living Hope Christian Church, 730 South County Trail, North Kingstown.
Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, 4-7 pm, in the Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia Street, Wakefield.
