Lewis “Lewie” F. Head of Jamestown Dies at 74

Lewis “Lewie” F. Head, 74 of Jamestown, passed away on Thursday, June 30, 2022. He was the loving son of the late Alton Head, Jr. and Caroline B. (Hull) Head.

Lewie was employed by the family business, Head Contracting, where he worked as a carpenter. He also worked as a farmer and shell fisherman. Lewie enjoyed traveling and set a goal to visit all 50 States. He drove as far as Alaska, where he was not able to get used to the “midnight sun.” While driving, he listened to Rush Limbaugh and Howie Carr, ultimately making the “Howie Celebrity Death List.” He will be missed by his friends down at East Ferry Deli, who he had met with daily for coffee, and his beloved yellow lab, Luther.

Lewie was the brother of Roxanne Head Smith, and Alton “Bud” Head, III; and uncle of Alton “Buddy” Head, IV, Roy Smith, Stephen Head, Jason Head, and Todd Smith.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service at 10 am on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 in St. Matthews Episcopal Church, 87 Narragansett Ave., Jamestown. His burial will follow in Cedar Cemetery, Jamestown.

A live streaming of the service will take place at 10 am on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 and may be found on the funeral home Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/FaganQuinnFuneralHome/live_videos/
