Lucille B. Geary of Cranston Dies at 98

Lucille B. Geary, 98, of Cranston, died peacefully Monday at the Saint Elizabeth Home in East Greenwich. She was the loving wife of the late Albert E. Geary.

 

Born in Woonsocket, daughter of the late Arthur and Linda (Maurice-Chaput) Duguay, Lucille had been a long-time resident of Providence before moving to Cranston seven years ago.

She leaves behind four daughters, Nancy Paulson (and Tom Paulson) of Richmond, Renée Geary (and Robert Frechette) of Cranston, Christine McCusker (and the late James McCusker) of Cranston, and Carole King (and Michael King) of Warwick.; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late J. Roland Duguay, Joseph Duguay, Robert Duguay, Theresa Leduc, and Richard O. Duguay. Grandmother of the late Adam C. Goulart.

 

A widow for almost 50 years, Lucille was the center of her loving family. She shared her love of reading, Rhode Island cuisine and card games with her family, as gatherings were filled with hi-low jack, homemade American chop suey, and clam chowder. In constant communication with her daughters, news spread quickly on the “Geary Loop”. She loved seeing her legacy continue on in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

 

Her funeral will be Saturday, May 20th at 10:00 AM in the Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Avenue, Warwick.

 

Burial will be at Saint Francis Cemetery, Pawtucket.
