Kuakumensah's 20 Points Lead Brown Past Bryant 69-62

Brown took an 11 point lead into the locker room at half time and extended it to 15 on a couple of occasions in the second half. Bryant cut their deficit down to five points two separate times, however, the Bears made shots and free throws when they needed to down the stretch and Bryant was unable to get any closer.

Leading the way
Cedric Kuakumensash led the Bears with 20 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double while Steven Spieth added 12 points of his own and defended Dyami Starks the majority of the night.
The Bulldogs were led by Starks who had 16 points in the game on five of 18 shooting from the field, while Gus Riley pulled down eight rebounds off the bench.
Next on the schedule
Next up for Bryant, they travel to Army on Tuesday, December 9 for a 7 p.m. game in hopes of snapping their four game losing streak.
Meanwhile, the Brown Bears stay in-state to take on the Providence Friars on Monday, December 8 at 9 p.m. That game will be shown on Fox Sports 1.

Five Takeaways from Brown's 69-62 Win Over Bryant
Bench play
One of the positives in this game for the Bulldogs was that their bench played really well, outscoring Brown 26-15.
Hunter Ware and Gus Riley each had 11 points off the bench while Gus Riley also pulled in eight rebound, which led the team.
For Brown, J.R. Hobbie contributed eight points off the bench and Dockery Walker added five.
The Bears did not start Leland King on the bench in this game, he was in the starting lineup for the first time since the Illinois game in late November.
Turnovers
Another positive for Bryant in the loss was the turnover numbers. The Bulldogs only turned the ball over eight times in the game and gave up nine points with those eight turnovers.
Meanwhile, they forced Brown into 13 turnovers and cashed in for 16 points. Seven of Browns 13 turnovers were steals by the Bulldogs.
Joe O'Shea and Hunter Ware led Bryant with two steals each in the contest.
Rebounding
One of the major advantages that Brown had in this game was their size and it showed. The Bears dominated the boards, out rebounding the Bulldogs 47-32, with 14 of those rebounds on the offensive end.
Those 14 offensive rebounds led to 12 second chance points for the Bears.
Kuakumensah led Brown with 15 rebounds while Gus Riley led Bryant with eight.
Rafael Maia and Leland King also added six rebounds in the game for brown
Dyami Starks
Dyami Starks led Bryant with 16 points in the game and was the only starter in double-figures.
However, he didn't have that great of a night shooting the ball. Starks went 5 of 18 from the field and 3 of 13 from beyond the arc. Starks made three of his five free throws.
Dyami Starks has led Bryant in every game this season and has been in double-figures in every game this season.
Cedric Kuakumensah
Cedric Kuakumensah dominated this game for the Brown Bears, both on the defensive and offensive end of the floor.
Kuakumensah had 20 points and 15 rebounds for a double-double, then he added four blocked shots, one assist and one steal.
He went 7 of 13 from the field and even buried a three-pointer.
This is the Kuakumensah that Brown needs to see the rest of the year if the Bears expect to turn their season around.
