Power Pack: RI High School Football: November 15th

Last weekend saw a handful of big games with major playoff implications, namely in Division 1 and Division 2-B. This week teams finish up their regular seasons and prepare for the Thanksgiving games and playoffs. The Division 2 playoffs begin this weekend, as 4 teams wil be eliminated from the quarterfinals. With all of that in mind here's a look at the updated Power Pack.
Power Pack: RI High School Football: November 15th
West Warwick
Division Record: 5-2 (Division 2-B)
Overall Record: 7-3
West Warwick lost their first 2 games in division play this year, but they've since won 5 straight and by way of some of the craziest tiebreakers you will ever see they were the #1 seed out of 5 5-2 teams in Division 2-B. With only 86 points allowed in 7 league games, the Wizards had the top defense in Division2-B. West Warwick takes on Division 2-A #4 seed Mt. Hope in the Division2 quarterfinals this weekend.
Last Week: Not Ranked
Johnston
Division Record: 6-1 (Division 2-A)
Overall Record: 8-1
Johnston won last week but still drop a spot by virtue of Cranston East moving ahead of them. The 6-1 Panthers are the #2 seed out of Division 2-A and host Division 2-B #3 seed Rogers in the Division 2 quarterfinals on Friday.
Last Week: #8
Woonsocket
Division Record: 6-1 (Division 2-A)
Overall Record: 7-3
Coventry handed Woonsocket its first loss in league play last week but the Novans had nothing to gain or lose in that game, having already clinched the top seed out of Division 2-A. Woonsocket hosts Division 2-B #4 seed St. Raphael on Saturday in the Division 2 quarterfinals.
Last Week: #6
La Salle
Division Record: 3-3 (Division 1)
Overall Record: 5-4
La Salle lost convincingly at the hands of Cranston East last weekend 36-13. This Friday they host Bishop Hendricken in a game that they might need to win to make the playoffs.
Last Week: #5
Cranston East
Division Record: 3-3 (Division 1)
Overall Record: 6-3
Cranston East scored a huge victory over La Salle on Friday and they now prepare for a tough road game against South Kingstown this Friday Night. Star Quarterback Alex Corvese and the Thunderbolts' high powered offense rank 1st in Division 1 in points per game with an average of 34.2 ppg.
Last Week: #9
Moses Brown
Division Record: 7-1 (Division 3)
Overall Record: 7-2
Other teams keep losing, Moses Brown keeps winning. All of a sudden the Quakers are in my Top 5, and this team is legitimate. They've only lost to La Salle and Mt. Pleasant (by 10 combined points) and QB Eric Cosmopulos is one of the best players in the state.
Last Week: #7
Portsmouth
Division Record: 5-2 (Division 1)
Overall record: 7-2
With their win over East Providence last week, Portsmouth is one of 3 teams to have been locked into their playoff seed in Division 1. In this case, the Patriots are locked in as the #3 seed and will face #2 seed Hendricken in the semifinals. This week Portsmouth takes on 1st place Barrington in a game without much on the line except for bragging rights.
Last Week: #4
Mt. Pleasant
Division Record: 7-0 (Division 3)
Overall Record: 7-1
Mt. Pleasant clinched 1st place in Division 3 with their win over Naragansett last week, and now face Middletown this Friday with a chance to go undefeated in league play. Not bad for their first season in Division 3.
Last Week: #3
Hendricken
Division Record: 6-1 (Division 1)
Overall Record: 8-1
Hendricken came up short last week in a 7-0 loss to Barrington, but they're still guaranteed the #2 seed in Division 1 and they're still a Top 2 team in my Power Pack. On tap this week for the Hawks is a La Salle team with a lot more on the line than the team in green.
Last Week: #1
Barrington
Division Record: 7-0 (Division 1)
Overall Record: 7-0
Barrington has silenced the doubters and proven themselves to be the top team in the state right now. Back to back wins over La Salle and Hendricken have locked the Eagles into the #1 seed in Division 1. This week they take on Portsmouth.
Last Week: #2
