Power Pack: RI High School Girls Soccer: October 31st

Round 1 of the playoffs is in the books in Rhode Island High School Girls Soccer, and we have some minor shifting within the Power Pack for this week. All of these team are still alive in their respective divisional tournaments, but at the end of the day only one team in each division goes home happy. Here's this week's Top 10.
Power Pack: RI High School Girls Soccer: October 31st
Burrillville
Division Record: 10-3-1 (Division 2)
Overall Record: 10-5-2
With 50 goals on the season (2nd in Division2) Burrillville is a formiddable opponent for anyone. the #3 seed in the tournament, the Broncos will host Westerly on Thursday in the quarterfinals.

Warwick Veterans
Division Record: 10-4-0 (Division 2)
Overall Record: 10-5-0
Warwick Vets is the #4 seed in Division 2 but I'm still ranking them ahead of Burrillville because they beat the Broncos head to head. Vets next takes on Scituate and their #1 scoring offense (52 goals, tops in Divison 2) in the quarterfinals.

Smithfield
Division Record: 8-5-1 (Division 1)
League Record: 9-5-1
Smithfield closed out strong and then knocked off Mt. Hope Wednesday night to advance to the Division 1 quarterfinals, where they'll meet East Greenwich. Smithfield was the top scoring team in Division 1 this year with 40 goals.

Pilgrim
Division Record: 11-2-1 (Division 2)
Overall Record: 12-2-1
Pilgrim impressed with a 1-0 victory over Burrillville to close the season and earn themselves he #2 seed in Division 2. 2nd in the division with only 11 goals allowed, the Patriots host Tiverton in the quarterfinals Friday.

Portsmouth
Division Record: 9-4-1 (Division 1)
League Record: 10-5-2
The Patriots beat Barrington 3-0 Tuesday night to advance to the quarterfinals. The #5 seed in Division 1, Portsmouth was one of only 4 teams to allow single digit goals to their opponents this season (9).

Lincoln
Division Record: 12-0-2 (Division 2)
Overall Record: 13-0-2
The Lions have shown themselves to be the favorites in Division 2 and host Classical in the quarterfinals on Friday night. 3rd in Division 2 in goals (47) and 1st in goals allowed (8) Lincoln has the all-around game to go all the way.

Exeter/West Greewich
Division Record: 9-2-3 (Division 1)
League Record: 11-2-3
Exeter/West Greenwich finished with the #4 seed in Division 1 and now await Portsmouth in the quarterfinals. With 25 goals on the season, EWG ranked 2nd in Division 1 in goals scored. A matchup of the EWG offense and La Salle defense is a possibility in the semifinals.

East Greenwich
Division Record: 9-1-4 (Division 1)
League Record: 10-2-5
East Greenwich finally lost last week in a 1-0 match with La Salle, but showed in the process that they can play with anyone and are still one of the top contender's in the tournament. EG ranked second in Division 1 with only 6 goals allowed for the season.

St. Mary's Bay View
Division Record: 10-1-3 (Division 1)
League Record: 11-1-6
Bay View earned the #2 seed in Division 1 and the #2 spot in my Power Pack after East Greenwich's loss. The Bengals host Cumberland on Saturday in the quarterfinals after the Clippers upset North Kingstown in Round 1.

La Salle
Division Record: 12-0-2 (Division 1)
League Record: 12-3-4
0 losses, 0 goals allowed, 0 doubt who the favorite is in the state tournament. The Rams completed one of the most dominant feats I've ever seen in high school sports last week by posting a 14th consecutive shutout in league play. Next up is South Kingston in the quarterfinals this Saturday.
