Vinny Paz to be Inducted into Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame

Cranston native Vinny Paz will be inducted into the Nevada Boxing Hall of Fame in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

In his career, Paz was a five-time world champion and retired with 50 career wins, 30 of which were by knockout.

His title wins include the IBF lightweight championship, WBA jr. middleweight championship, IBO super middleweight championship, IBC super middleweight championship, and the WBU super middleweight championship.

Paz nearly lost everything in a car crash that resulted in him breaking his neck in the early 90s. 

However, he would return to the ring approximately 13 months later. 

In 2016,  a film based on his life titled “Bleed for This,” was released.

In 2017, Paz served as one of the very first guests ever on GoLocal LIVE.

Other Inductees

Besides Paz, other inductees included Terry Norris, Leroy Haley, Wayne McCullough, Hasim Rahman, Juan Manuel Marquez, Bernard Hopkins, Humberto Gonzales, Winky Wright, Joel Casamayor and Bobby Chacon.
