The law firm of Duffy & Sweeney announced that Sara Wilkinson has joined the firm as senior counsel 

She is admitted to practice law in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts.

Wilkinson comes to Duffy & Sweeney with nearly 15 years of experience, mostly as in-house counsel. At Duffy & Sweeney, she will work with firm clients, including in-house counsel, on a range of business, employment, technology and international property, and other commercial matters. 

Prior to joining Duffy & Sweeney, her roles included nearly seven years as Deputy General Counsel for Corvias Group and three years as Director of Compliance and Corporate Counsel at GTECH (now IGT).

Wilkinson has handled all facets of construction and property management, as well as human resources matters and employment law issues including those related to the Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She has also been responsible for the oversight of codes of conduct, employee handbooks and risk assessments. Wilkinson has worked extensively on licensing/regulatory issues in the gaming sector, corporate governance and compliance-related issues.

A resident of North Kingston, Wilkinson is a 1999 graduate of Indiana University where she received a BA in criminal justice and psychology. She received her law degree at the Emory University School of Law in 2002.  

She is  a volunteer for the East Greenwich Animal Protection League and previously volunteered for the Rhode Island Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
